'Edge' is a self portrait of the artist, that looks at the ambiguity of pleasure and pain, darkness and light, and the possibility of their simultaneous presence.
The background has a slight ultramarine blue shimmering through black paint, and the painting was given a shiny firnis layer to protect the paint and enhance color depth.
